8 Foods That Fight Depression

We’re used to the foods we eat affecting things like our heart and blood sugar, but mental health?  Not so much. In fact, I can’t remember my nutrition textbooks in undergrad EVER mentioning a connection between food and depression. 

However, research to suggest that nutrients in certain foods play a key role in depression and other mental health conditions continues to pile up.  Even though the connection isn’t fully understood, there are key nutrients that impact mental health. And while foods aren’t considered a complete solution for conditions like depression, getting certain nutrients in on a regular basis is considered a smart move – to help prevent or treat – depression by many health professionals.
