My 5 Favorite Skinny Summer Cocktails

Yes, you can lose the #Quarantine15 while still enjoying a summer cocktail. Here are my 5 favorite skinny summer cocktails right now! 

Summer is when I usually shift into a little bit more laid-back schedule. But coming off a spring of quarantine, I’ve actually been looking to add a little more structure this summer as life hopefully starts to resume and things like health goals come back into focus.

I’m not talking about anything crazy; I mean, it is summer! I’m talking about adding a little daily structure to lose the Quarantine15. For me, this means making my workouts a higher priority and going back to my pre-quarantine intake of veggies and water, as well as carbs, sugar, and alcohol. 

But that doesn’t mean I’m giving up my summer cocktails.

Instead, I’ve started being a little choosier about what I drink and what I put in my drinks – which, in turn, has spurred my cocktail creativity. I’ve also discovered (and maybe become a little obsessed with) Fever-Tree and their line of quality mixers!

Here my 5 favorite skinny cocktails (from 58 to 192 calories):

  • Elderflower Gin or Vodka Tonic

  • Skinny Paloma

  • St. Germain Margarita

  • Greyhound Spritzer

  • Pomegranate Lime Mocktail

Elderflower Gin or Vodka Tonic

  • 1 ½ oz gin or vodka

  • ½ (6.8-oz) bottle Fever Tree Elderflower Tonic Water

  • ½ (6.8-oz) bottle Fever Tree Light Tonic Water

  • Lime wedge

Pour gin or vodka over ice in a glass. Add both tonic waters; stir well to combine.  Serve with lime wedge.

  • Yield (1 cocktail):  146 calories, 12g carb (10g added sugar)

Skinny Paloma

  • 1 ½ oz tequila

  • 1 (6.8-oz) bottle Fever Tree Sparkling Pink Grapefruit

  • Squeeze of lime

Pour tequila over ice in a glass. Add Sparkling Pink Grapefruit; stir well to combine.  Serve with lime wedge.

  • Yield (1 cocktail): 120 calories, 7g carb (7g added sugar)

St. Germain Margarita

  • 1 ½ oz tequila

  • ¾ oz St. Germain elderflower liqueur

  • 3 Tbsp fresh lime juice

  • Lime wedge

  • Fizzy sparkling water (optional)

Combine tequila, liqueur, and lime juice in a cocktail shaker. Shake well. Pour over ice in a salt-rimmed glass, and top with fizzy water if desired. Serve with lime wedge.

  • Yield (1 cocktail): 192 calories, 11g carb (approx. 7g added sugar)

  

Greyhound Spritzer

  • 1 ½ oz vodka

  • 1 (6.8-oz) bottle Fever Tree Sparkling Pink Grapefruit or other fizzy lower-calorie grapefruit drink

Pour vodka over ice in a glass. Sparkling Pink Grapefruit; stir well to combine. Serve with lime wedge.

  • Yield (1 cocktail): 126 calories, 7g carb (7g added sugar)

 

Pomegranate Lime Mocktail

  • 3 Tbsp pomegranate juice

  • 1 Tbsp Rose’s Lime Juice

  • ½ cup flavored fizzy water (such as LaCroix) or light tonic water

Pour both juices over ice in a glass. Top with fizzy water; stir well to combine.  Serve with lime wedge.

  • Yield (1 cocktail): 58 cal, 13g carb (6g added sugar)

*For a slightly sweeter mocktail, use ½ cup light tonic in place of the fizzy water: 78 cal, 18g carb (10g added sugar).

**For a slightly sweeter cocktail, use light tonic water and add 1 ½ fl oz vodka: 174 cal, 18g carb (10g added sugar).
