Crispy Air-Fryer Chickpeas

Everyone loves having a midday treat, but it can be difficult to get kids excited about healthy snacks. This recipe for air fryer chickpeas is the answer to finding a tasty, nutritious snack that people of all ages will love. Chickpeas are high in protein and vegan-friendly, making them perfect for keeping you fueled and satisfied throughout the day. 

With only 25 minutes of cook time, you can have this prepared ahead of time for a guilt-free treat ready to go during the week!

Air Fryer Chickpeas

MAKES APPROXIMATELY 1¼ CUPS

To add a little spice, add dash of cayenne pepper to the salt and garlic powder. 

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 (15-ounce) can unsalted chickpeas, drained and rinsed

  • ½ tablespoon extra virgin olive oil

  • ½ teaspoon kosher or sea salt

  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder

  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika

METHOD

  1. Preheat air fryer to 390°F.

  2. Spread rinsed and drained chickpeas over a layer of paper towels or clean kitchen towel. Using an additional towel, gently rub to dry and to remove outer layers.

  3. Combine chickpeas, oil, salt, garlic powder, and paprika in a bowl; toss gently to combine.

  4. Carefully pour the chickpeas into the air fryer basket. Cook for about 20-25 minutes, shaking the basket about every 5 minutes. Remove when chickpeas are golden brown and crispy.

  5. Let cool completely. Store in an air-tight container.
