Keto + Intermittent Fasting: Is It a Safe Combo for Weight Loss?
Most of you know my surprise in learning about – and actually liking – intermittent fasting. In fact, a 16:8 fast is something that I usually try to do most weekdays. It’s become a normal part of my daily routine, and I think what I like most is that it doesn’t feel restrictive.
You may remember I also shared new research this spring on the ketogenic diet – something that previously was viewed as an unhealthy fad diet unless using it as a therapeutic treatment for epilepsy. While I don’t think this super high-fat, very low-carb diet is for me, there is new research suggesting it may have health benefits for certain individuals.

But combining the two? This was new to me, and something that felt pretty restrictive when you combine a small eating window and limited food choices. I checked out the latest research for Cooking Light to see if I could find evidence that there is any potential benefit – or need – for adopting a restrictive eating pattern like this.
